Which beaches are the best for children in Thassos? Which places are the best for families for your stay? Thassos is the most suitable island for family vacations with young children.

The best place for families with children is Skala Potamias - Golden Beach. It is located on the east side of Thassos just 10 - 15 minutes from the capital of Thasssos, Limenas. The beach of 3.5 km, which "unites" the two areas, is sandy and it’s waters are very shallow. The largest beach of Thassos, Skala Potamia - Golden Beach is the safest and best beach for families with young children.

The feeling of the golden sand of the beach will not let you forget the child inside you, as playing in the sand is a desire and a summer habit of young and old. Water sports services and activities are provided at the famous beach of Golden Beach.

A magical location as it combines the wild beauty of the highest mountain in Thassos, Ipsarion (1203 meters). The intense vegetation of the place does not leave you even for a minute to get used to the indescribable beauty of the pine green in combination with the blue of the sky and the sea.

In many parts of the beach there are sunbeds and umbrellas since at the back there are many beach bars where you can enjoy your coffee or a cool beer or cocktail.

HOTELS IN SKALA POTAMIAS – GOLDEN BEACH

In the area there are many new hotels, modern construction of all types. Five and four-stars hotels and family friendly accommodation with all amenities. Most hotels are located either in front of the beach or within 5 minutes walking distance.

The comfortable stay is combined with the small and large supermarkets that are situated in the area.

From a family - friendly area can not miss the medical care. There are two clinics in the center of Skala Potamia which are available 24 hours a day.

In terms of food you do not need to worry because the area has many of the best restaurants and traditional taverns of Thassos, where the waves break.

The second family friendly destination is the small village of Potos. The area of Potos is located in the southern part of Thassos, 40 km from the capital - port of the island, Limenas. It is one of the most famous tourist destinations of southern Thassos as it is the ideal area for families and especially for young people. The options in the taverns and beach bars are many.
